Assessments help us determine where your learning journey should begin.
What are Assessments?
At the Niagara West Adult Learning Centre (NWALC) we offer Assessments to help an adult learner determine where their learning journey should begin.
Recognizing that many adult learners have had a lot of life experience since they left school, our Assessments will help them to pinpoint a realistic starting point for learning whether it is gaining computer skills, improving reading, writing or numeracy or learning English as a Second Language.
The Assessments are free of charge but must be booked ahead of time.
Having a Transcript Assessment is the first step towards completing the credits you need for a Grade 12 Diploma or Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
If you attended school locally, we will assist you in obtaining a copy of your transcript through our partnerships with the local School Boards. If you went to school outside of the Niagara area, we will help you to locate the information you need to obtain your transcript from your own secondary school or board.
Once you have your transcript, we will help to connect you with someone qualified to assess your transcript, resume, and life experience. They will then provide you with a suggested learning plan to achieve your diploma.
