At the Niagara West Adult Learning Centre (NWALC) we offer Assessments to help an adult learner determine where their learning journey should begin. Recognizing that many adult learners have had a lot of life experience since they left school, our Assessments will help them to pinpoint a realistic starting point for learning whether it is gaining computer skills, improving reading, writing or numeracy or learning English as a Second Language. The Assessments are free of charge but must be booked ahead of time.
In partnership with the District School Board of Niagara, we offer on-site Transcript Assessments. Having a Transcript Assessment is the first step towards completing the credits needed for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), a grade 12 diploma. This assessment is a 30 minute meeting with a representative from the District School Board of Niagara. During the meeting, they will assess your transcript, resume and life experience and will then determine a suggested academic learning plan to achieve your diploma.
Transcript Assessments take place at the Beamsville office twice a month and must be booked ahead of time.
